Paper Anuschka :)
Allright, this is the highlight of my day.
See, I was browsing around in the middle of work. You know, doing that stuff you do when the boss isn’t looking. Yeah, online window-shopping. Except that my boss is, well, me. So technically I should be mad at myself, but how can I be when I found something that made me smile and so touched.
As you all probably know by now that I am an Anuschka bag-addict. And I seriously welled up in joy when I saw a beautiful work of art, created by a paper artist, inspired by the thing I’m very passionate about. Check this out.

Isn’t it pretty? It’s an Anuschka bag, made of paper and wire-meshing with a collage of different papers on top such as Russian chocolate paper. The creator, Berlin-based Heike Roesner, has been tinkering with paper arts for more than 10 years. Apart from bags, she also creates tons of other cool stuff from paper. I know it’s not exactly this…
Yep. The bag I’m drooling over now. Divine, isn’t it?
Anyway, back to Heike Roesner, she claims that her paper bags are usable. And I quote:
The interesting thing is, that each of my bags is a sculpture. You can go out and use it for shopping but at the same time it is a work of art. So you can decide to put it into a show-case or go outside with it. -from Handbagdesigner101.
Sounds a lot like my Anuschkas. You know, maybe Ms. Roesner didn’t take the name “Anuschka” from the Anuschka I collect, but still… after seeing her work and her passion about it, she reminds me a lot of… me!
So I want to learn to make paper bags. It’s another way of recycling and, I get something cute out of it. Because you know, I was thinking maybe it’s cute to have a miniature of each of my collection, to display on my desk. Nice, right? You can check out Ms. Roesner’s other work here. She’s so fabulous!
Well, time to make myself a sandwich. All the excitement made me hungry.
Cheers, bloggies! ![]()
