Hi again for another edition of Thursday Fact N Pick!? Today’s fact is a tribute to fine American women with even finer taste in handbags.? Why do I think it’s a tribute?? Why, because although it’s made in India by talented artists…
…the first ever Anuschka Bag was sold in the U.S., not in India.
Isn’t that fantastic?? I might be among the first owners of the bag, but hey, I’m calling out to all Anuschka bag fans out there.? You are all fabulous!
So that’s the wonderful fact.? Now, what about the wonderful pick?

Even though I’m a self-proclaimed hard-core lover of Anuschka bags, I sometimes have to carry luggages.? Yes I travel much, due to my work.? So when I’m stuck with the boring luggage on business trips, I always add an Anuschka touch by attaching this Anuschka Round Luggage Tag, and my luggage will scream “style” and make other luggages embarrassed in the conveyor belt.? Seriously, this classy small thing is not only cute, it represents your taste in design and art as well!
Right, I have to get back to work now.? My recently-turned-Bahama-resident client is reconsidering re-hiring me as her rep.
Wish me luck guys!

I woke up early today to prepare some out of this world breakfast for me and Mr. BF. He just flew in from Singapore. The poor thing is still trying to overcome the jet lag. I wanted to make him the usual pancakes and syrup, but I’m thinking… something Asian might be good for a change. And ladies and gentlemen, I hereby share the fab recipe.
Ingredients:
1 packet of Instant ramen (I like Nissin, chicken flavor)
Sausages, slice thinly
Green onion
Peas
Shoyu
2 Eggs (whisked)
Method:
Boil ramen until tender. Do not put the flavor powder in. Drain ramen, set aside.
Whisk eggs, add flavour powder. Stir well.
Add boiled ramen into egg batter, add sausages as well. Add a dash of shoyu, mix well.
Heat butter in a frying pan.
Add ramen batter into pan and fry until golden.
Drain ramen, pat with paper towel to remove excess oil. Slice as you would slice a pizza.
And there you go! An easy Asian dish for breakfast

Surely it doesn’t look like a breakfast dish.? But it’s all good!

The oriental pizza!

Matchmaking friends isn’t really my game.
But matchmaking my outfit is!
My find today is totally remarkable, as they are hip, fun and trendy!? Perhaps the hippest pair in all my Anuschka bags and wallets collection.? Behold.

Yes, it’s the Anuschka Top Zip Slouch in Tattoo Rose Denim.? Now I have the exact companion for this fabulous bag.? Lookie here!

See how they complement each other beautifully!? This Anuschka Ladies Clutch Wallet in Tattoo Rose Denim is just the thing to pull out from the gorgeous bag.
By the way, I’m feeling kinda sad today.? Maybe it explains all the blue in my fashion choices today.? A client I’ve had for years left for good to live in the Bahamas.? Said she’s gonna start living the simpler life and become a ‘commoner’.? It’s such a shame that she doesn’t need a representative anymore.? This is when I realize that my job is really formed by modern culture, and not exactly in tune with mediocrity.? *sigh*
Oh well.? I still think the Bahamas is anything but simple or mediocre.? It’s fabulous.
And still, to me, fabulosity (always) needs a rep.
*sigh*

July 25th, 2008 -- Posted in Babies and Kids, My Days, Trish |
I haven’t mentioned my best friend Trish’s baby’s name.? After a grueling 2 days, she finally decided to name her baby girl: Casey Audrey.? Casey is her husband’s dad’s name, and Audrey… well, I think she might have always wanted to name her kid that.? And she told me this morning, Casey Audrey has to be said “Casey Audrey”.? She won’t settle for just “Casey” or “Audrey” because “It would be just wrong, Soph.”? Okay then.? It’s not really weird to me as I have a Mary Ellen in my family, so Casey Audrey would be fine with me.
What’s not fine with me is this news I found.
To name your kid with something as bizzare as “Talulah Does The Hula”, I think could just be categorized as child abuse.? No kidding.? Thank goodness the good judges of Hawaii are aware of the social handicap she’ll be having if she sticks with that horrible horrible name.
I thought once of naming my future kids with fruit names, ah yes… very Gwyneth of me, but I figured… I don’t want my kids to be the bully target in the playground.? I could just imagine it.
“Give us your lunch money, Peachy!”
And so on.
It’s not as appalling as “Violence” or some sick (real) names out there, but I just don’t have the heart.? So I decided to wait and really take my time like Trish did.? Afterall, names, like faces, will stick with you until the day you die.? It’s a legacy from the parents and I think giving a loony legacy will get nobody anywhere.? So why do it in the first place?
I’m sharing this information with you, fellow bloggers to never name your kids with the following names I got from the article:
Fish and Chips
Yeah Detroit
Keenan Got Lucy
or the stupidest name I ever came across: Sex Fruit.
Those names are fortunately illegal to give in New Zealand.? I don’t know about our law here in the U.S., but I think… really, save the odd names for your pets (if they really deserve it, that is).
I’ve always thought Anuschka is a great name, though.? It’s exotic.? It’s beautiful.? It won’t cause your kids any social harm when they grow up.
But most importantly, it’s LEGAL.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hello again for another edition of Thursday Fact N Pick!? This week’s fact about Anuschka Handbags is:
The painting process of the bag is a closely guarded family secret.? The only known fact about it is that it takes two days to finish a painting in each bag.
Well well, two days is sure a heckuva short time to deliver such fine masterpieces!? But those talented artists in India know what they’re doing with these beautiful bags.? And because I appreciate their fine handiwork, I am proud to present to you…

The Anuschka Contemporary Hobo in Abstract Classic.
The contrast of colors and patterns are mesmerizing.? I don’t even know how they use all these colors in one bag and able to make it all pretty!
How I love Anuschka Bags…

My sister’s kids are in town.? They are Jacob who’s 5 years old and Daisy who’s 3.? I promised my sister to take the small ones to the park for a picnic.? This reminds me of my babysitting days, and I couldn’t be more excited!? Here are a few stuff I never forget to pack when babysitting.
1.? First Aid Kit
You never know when these kids are going to bump into something or fall, even when you have the eagle eye mode going on.? So a first aid kit is a must have in your bag.
2.? Personal Medicines
Not for you, but for the toddlers.? Ask their parents what their allergies are, and whether they are under any sort of medications.? With babysitter-friendly parents, you don’t even have to ask.? They’ll give you some notes and all you have to do is follow the instructions.? As simple as that!
3.? Important Numbers
Make sure you have the list of their doctor, immediate relative and of course, parents.
4.? Snacks!
Kids love to snack.? My nephew and niece love fruits so I’ll have to take some peeled oranges and fresh apples with me.? Consult the parents before providing snacks for the toddlers.
5.? Activity games
I used to keep non-toxic crayons and a small drawing pad in my bag whenever I go babysitting.? These sort of activity will make the children less cranky, and easier to manage when they’re getting bored.? Because today is an outdoor day, I’m bringing frisbee and a ball.
6.? Bug Repellent
For an outdoorsy activity, I’m bringing a bug repellent cream.? You never know what summer might bring!
7.? Sunscreen
This isn’t only for them, this is very important for you too.
8.? Story books
Reading stories is also fun to do without having to carry too much stuff.? Just make sure you’re updated with the latest in the children literature world!
And with those 8 babysitting essentials, I am now off to the park with Jacob and Daisy!? See yaaaa!

Right.? So this morning I went online and found that Estelle Getty from Golden Girls had died.? She was 84 years old.? I loved that little old lady, she always cracks me up. Rest in peace, Estelle.
And then I found an email, saying that I won 1 million dollars.? I wanted to delete it and forget about it, but I ended up talking to Mr. BF and fantasizing about what we’d do if we each have one million dollars right here right now and we HAVE to spend it in a day.? We strangely got so excited that we actually listed the ten things we’d do.? Here are the things he would do.
1.? Buy a yacht.
2.? Replace our car with a Toyota Prius Hybrid.
3.? Start a geeky but quirky t-shirt business.? Main targets:? his fellow IT pals.
4.? Move to a bigger house with a bigger yard so Bobo can run around and perhaps… breed.
5.? Cancel the India trip cancellation, and book for a Greek vacation to follow it up.? With me!
6.? Buy a flat in London so we’ll be able to actually see what it’s like to be Posh and Becks, living in California AND England.? LOL.? I laughed so hard at this idea that my OJ squirted through my nose.? But it was worth it.
7.? Get a new set of wardrobe for autumn and winter -although I don’t see the point as we still live in the subtropic part of the country.? I said to him, he’ll probably need a proper winter attire when we get that apartment in NY.? Again, I laughed like mad.
8.? Get a new pal for Bobo.? Maybe an English bulldog.
9.? Replace our fridge.
10.? Get a swimming pool to cool off in.
Right.? And here are the things I would do.
1.? Donate 10% to various causes.
2.? Keep 50% in savings and bonds.
3.? Extending the India and Greece trip with a romantic getaway to Paris.
4.? Shop like mad in Paris.
5.? Start a business of selling Parisian goods with cheaper price, online. LOL.
6.? Hire a personal trainer.
7.? Replace our microwave.? We need a more heavy-duty one, because we use the microwave a LOT.
8.? Get a new digital camera.
9.? Get new shoes!
10.? Purchase all remaining Anuschka Bags and Leather Goods I’ve yet to possess.
It was a fun talk over breakfast.? We’re going grocery shopping in a couple of hours and I realized what made the talk so enjoyable.? Observe my wallet.

Guess the fantasy of having too much money only works for those who haven’t any.? Gotta go to the ATM and fast!? LOL.
Oh, in case you’re wondering, that’s my Anuschka Hanging French Purse Wallet. Cute innit?

Until later, bloggies!

It’s like watching Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Tomb Raider, with a wimpy sidekick who’s lucky enough to make the main role.

I don’t want to leave summer yet, but I have to be realistic. As I said previously, the fashion world moves ahead of the human world, and everywhere you go today… there’s always a ‘fall preview’. I hate to rush, but I thought that I could make a transition. From sleeveless, spaghetti straps, tubes… I now move to short sleeves. Micro-short sleeves if possible, but still sleeves. It’s just hard to think ‘cold autumn day’ when it’s all sunny and bright. But I’m gonna try sneaking a preview on what my transition wear would be.

From a summery wrap floral dress by Diana Von Furstenberg, into the calmer Joie’s Charisma Minidress (both available at Nordstorm.com), I begin to think that transition is good.
What makes it even better is that I have a collection of bags that would go with whatever the season is. And featured here is the Anuschka Medium Hobo in Premium Hibiscus Antique. I guess the warm tone of the flowers would remind me of summer, the bluish edges welcome the cool winter and the whole natural leather tone would correspond well with the coming autumn.
There, I’ve made a fall preview. No, wait. It’s more of a transition. It’s not yet fall and I’m still refusing to post about those cute baloon-silhouetted skirts no matter how cute they are. It’s not yet time to turn grey for me. I’m still savoring the colors!
What can I say, I’m a Californian. Tropical girl at heart, that is.
