This is what I dread the most.? You know, having to get eyeglasses.
Lately my vision haven’t exactly been 20/20.? I’ve been trying to deny it, but it came to a point where Mr. B finally put his foot down and commanded me to at least go to an optometrist to get my eyes checked out.? Yes, after months of stalling, I finally surrendered especially after last night where I accidentally stepped on poor Bobo when he was having a nap in front of our TV.? Now the pooch is still traumatized and will whimper in fury whenever he hears me walking.? Poor poor thing.
So anyway, before I go to the optometrist, I wanted to check out some cool eyeglasses frames.? I didn’t want to take contacts because Trish said they require too much maintenance and I certainly don’t want that.? And thank goodness I didn’t, because I wouldn’t bump into this beauty if I did.

? It’s kinda cool, isn’t it?? Now I can pretend that I’m the newer version of Lisa Loeb.? Okay okay I admit, there was some point in the nineties when I was still in junior high… where I used to buy glassless black-framed ‘glasses’ and pretend I was a rock chick.? But this, if I still have at least a good eye, it would be for picking the most stylish stuff even if they mean medications.
The best thing is, it’s only $49 and it suits my face really well :D?

So let’s just say I have this client called Magda. I organized her baby shower a year ago, and it was a huge success. And we became great friends.
But great friends means when a friend asks for a photo shoot of her baby in an Anne Geddes style, the asked friend should find Anne Geddes on a budget. And Anne Geddes style means displaying cute little babies in cute little costumes.
Where in the world do I find Halloween costumes in May?
Now if I were living in the eighties, I would be frantically calling my Mom for these kind of things and disturb her book club luncheon. And therefore Hallelujah for the internet. Now it is time to decide. What should little Suzy wear for the photo shoot?

or…

or…

Seriously, this is too cute a job. Seeing the prices that they have at Half Price Costumes, I might as well suggest Magda to take all three and use my paycheck to get some costumes for myself. Err… Mr. BF, what do you have in mind?

You know how men are very literal sometimes?? Well last night I got into talking about world politics with Mr. Boyfriend (I’ll call him Mr. B now to speed up my typing).? That’s not my favorite subject, but we watched the news together and got into a ’serious’ conversation.
Me: “You know it’s all like the big-elephant-in-the-room kind of situation.? Everybody sees it, and are actually slightly bothered with it, but nobody wants to talk about it.? It makes all things weird.”
Him:? “It’s damn well weird.? I don’t understand you women, because if there’s a huge elephant in my room, I’d be sure to ask who the hell put that thing in here and would somebody please get it out!”
This is the morning and I still crack up every time I recall the conversation.? Maybe we shouldn’t watch the news while sipping wine.? See, he’s sitting across of me with his laptop, now seeing me crack up and starts cracking up himself.? Oh the joy of being able to work at home together.? And he and I will be home for the next two weeks.? Our clients are being really nice these days as they don’t require us to do much traveling.? Talk about domestic bliss.
Now I’m beginning to wonder what we should get for lunch.
Until later, bloggies!

I always keep a pack of gum in my bag. No big deal, it keeps my breath fresh and I like chewing gums.
What I don’t like are the catastrophic accidents caused by the teeny tiny chewy thing. It’s very traumatizing to have your beautiful long hair cut because a gum is stuck near the root on top of your head. Thank God that neighbor’s kid grew up to be a pretty model and is jet-setting the world right this minute as she’s now safe from that gum-chewing (ex) friend of hers.
Anyway, I guess I paid my karma because just this morning I found a gum stuck beneath one of my gorgeous Anuschka, as I was waiting in line for my morning paper. Didn’t know how it got there, but it was enough to make me sweat for 2 blocks.

Yep, the Anuschka Kelly Tote.
I wanted to pull the gum out but was way too scared to ruin the leather. Besides it wasn’t a pretty sight anyway. So I handled the bag carefully, ran home, and called Trish. She calmed me down and told me to get some ice into a plastic bag. And she told me to rub the plastic bag over the gum so it hardens. When it did, I pulled the gum out carefully and yes it was easier to do so. Trish told me just to wipe the spot with wet cloth. It worked. Thank God it didn’t leave any stain. Darn gum.
While we’re at it, I guess it’s just appropriate to share some tips on cleaning your leather bag.
1. Never ever leave your leather bags out where can be reached by direct sunlight. Trust me, the sun rays will change the color of the bag.
2. Always use cloth to cover your leather bags, or any porous covers. Putting them inside plastic bags or non-porous materials isn’t a great idea as it will encourage mildew and bacteria growth. And they will ruin the bags for sure.
3. Wipe the leather bag with a fresh damp cloth and dry it up with a dry towel before storing. This will get rid of the dirt that probably contain those bag-ruining bacterias.
4. Trish’s simple tip worked for me and there are plenty of stain-removing tips online, but take it from me, the more stain you get on your leather bag, the more risk you’re taking if you decide to attempt removing them yourself. Get professional help.
Oh and um… maybe you don’t really need to take a bag when you’re getting the morning paper anyway. You never know what danger the streets have in store for your beautiful leather bag.

Aaww… just read the Twitter Blog and apparently the service is down. But that’s ok because I am a Twitter addict who still have a teeny tiny thing called self-control
But I guess I’m not having much self-control on window shopping online today, as me and Mr. Boyfriend chose to spend the holiday at home. We’ve been searching the web for our next fabulous getaway in summer and we’re thinking Asia -again-. So last year it was Bali, this July we’re planning to go to… drum rolls please…
…Incredible India!
The place where my exquisite Anuschka bags came from. Seriously, I’ve been wanting to go to India since forever. Some say it’s so hot there, but hey, isn’t that what ’summer’ is supposed to be? And yeah Mr. Boyfriend can’t wait too because he’s into tattoos now and have said that he’s going to be looking for inspirations in India. I guess a 10-day trip would be more than enough for me to shop and him to… well, learn Hindi? Who knows?

Of all the places I’m looking forward to visit, I really really want to see the Taj Mahal. Seriously, people can say Paris is the city of love, but everybody knows Gustave Eiffel didn’t build that tower for his princess. Where’s the love in that? Read the full story about the Taj Mahal here.
Now, on to the usual problem of any of our trips together: Mr. Boyfriend will be so keen to pack our luggage in this…

Yes, my man and his taste for sleek minimalist surfaces. But not to worry. I’m not the robotic Victoria Beckham, fashion-wise, so I’m going to add a touch of India by toting something to honor the craftsmanship of the country…

Omg, I am so excited, and it’s barely even June. Help!

I’ve finished work by 9 a.m. today. No, I’m not kidding because I started working at 6 a.m. This is the perks of being a freelancer. You can set your own time and decide when you want to loosen up those tight muscles at the back of your neck.
And today I feel like pampering myself with a long bubble bath.
But before I do that, I have to set up my attire tonight, as Mr. Boyfriend asked me out to dinner. Tonight we’re meeting his sister, Tina, who apparently has a new haircut (and possibly a new boyfriend) to show off. I like Tina. Unlike other future sister-in-laws who are usually snooty and hard to get along with, she’s a lot of fun and already considers me a part of the family.
I think I’m going to wear this:

And this…

And combine the gorgeous dress-top with my new Linnea Pelle gold belt! Yaaayy!

I bet Tina will be sooooo jealous!

Mr. Boyfriend came home today and I couldn’t be happier because I missed him so much. And adding the cherry on top… he brought me this:

And thankfully, I have something that would really go well with the scarf. It’s not turquoise, it’s actually brown… with a touch of turquoise here and there. Behold.

Pretty!
Don’t you just love the color gradations? I mean, ok, I might be going overboard here. But I can’t seem to stop admiring these talented people who created these painted leather bags. You gotta be really skilful to be able to produce wearable works of art such as this bag. Seriously.
Right now I’m staring at Mr. Boyfriend’s leather luggage and I know I should help him unpack –at least start now while he’s in the shower-. But all I can think about is grabbing a paint from the garage and attempt painting on that huge leather luggage.
But then I think about it again and I guess I’ll leave any forms of painting to the Anuschka people. Obviously they know what they’re doing and their paint (unlike mine) surely don’t come from the garage.
Oh, congratulations to David Cook for becoming the new American Idol! Guess I’ll be waiting for his songs to come out on iTunes. And yes, I’ve downloaded the Ben Stiller - Jack Black - Robert Downey Jr. clip and have watched it for the zillionth time now. Come on, it’s for charity!
See ya later bloggies!

No I’m not talking about MY baby as I haven’t got one. I just got invited to a baby shower this weekend by my friend Trish. She’s very excited and now I am excited too. I talked to Mr. Boyfriend (yes, he’s still away on business *sob*) and we decided to buy this as a baby shower present.

Now Trish herself doesn’t know what the baby’s sex would be, so it was rather tricky for me to get her a present. But the ever thoughtful Mr. Boyfriend suggested that we get her something neutral. What can be more neutral than white and (a variety of) colors? Besides, if it’s a girl, then she’s going to get her first bag from Aunt Sophie, the bag-addict. Yay!
Speaking of bags, I wanted to give Trish a bag too. Since she will be a full-time mom, I wanted to give her something roomy so she can tote every baby equipment she might have, without going out of style. And I laid my eyes on this:

That’s gonna create one yummy mummy indeed! It’s large, it’s slouchy and what matters most is… it’s leather and it’s pretty. Trish would definitely love it.
Hang on. I’m beginning to love it too. No, I’m in love with it already.
Oh dear!
